Artist Biography

Name: Lost Planets

Style: Indie, with a tendency to lean more to folk than Indie Rock, such as The Black Keys and The Killers, but more Fleet Foxes and Ellie Goulding.

Influences: Ellie Goulding,
Florence and The Machine, The Lumineers, The Vaccines, Arctic Monkeys and The Black Keys.

Members: 3 males. Joe (Lead singer and guitar, black skinny jeans, black top), Dillon (Lead Guitar and backing vocals, Black skinny jeans, jazzy shirt, navy Nike beanie) and Ollie (black skinny jeans, black hoody, white t-shirt, Nike trainers).
Album Cover: Both members, but not in full, perhaps images stitched together to create an illusion or one member in the foreground, the other in the background.

Style: Female- Blonde hair, white t-shirt, black jeans, converse. Male- Black/white t-shirt, black jeans, converse/vans.

Lost Planets are an Indie Trio from Leicestershire, Ollie (16), Dill (17) and Joe (18) met when studying Musical Performance at college. Since this they have collaborated to perform covers for the Radio 1 introducing stage, are hotly tipped to be nominated for this years Mercury Music Prize and are rumoured to be supporting Ellie Goulding on her upcoming tour.

After the news their first album would be released this Autumn, their Twitter handle Lost Planets has been inundated with follows and messages of anticipation and excitement for their future material.

The fuss about this young trio is causing murmurs in the music industry that the stars of 2014 could quite easily be on our hands already, nonetheless the modest Lost Planets say the "hype is nice, but it won't mean anything if success doesn't follow." However this instant show of maturity from the Artist show a big future could be a few notes away..

Choice of Genre/Song for A2 Media Coursework

I have decided to use the Indie Genre when creating my music video. This is because I enjoy listening to this style of music, as well as liking the artists who produce such material. Furthermore I often like the style these artsist convey, which doesn't just include their music, but Album Artwork and Fashion choices. The song I have chosen is called Calibans Dream by Underworld and is best known for accompanying the lighting of the Olympic Cauldron during the Opening Ceremony of London 2012.
